About Us

At Swansea University Students’ Union, student life is at the heart of everything we do. We’re an award winning, student-led charity that exists to help students make the most of their university experience, whether that’s through unforgettable events, sports clubs, societies, campaigns, volunteering, representation or simply finding friends.

Led by students for students, we create opportunities for students to connect, belong, have fun, make memories and create positive change during their time at Swansea University.

Who are we looking for?

Are you passionate about building communities and creating amazing student experiences? Do you love helping people bring ideas to life, organising exciting activities and supporting students to make lasting memories with their friends and groups?

If so, we’d love you to join us as our Student Communities Co-ordinator at Swansea University Students’ Union.

What is this role?

Student groups are a huge part of university life. From sports clubs and societies to cultural groups, course communities and student-led projects, these groups help students find friendships, try new things and feel part of something bigger.

In this role, you’ll help students create exciting, welcoming and memorable experiences for their members. You could be supporting a society with a themed event, helping a sports club plan a tournament trip, working with student leaders on fresh ideas to grow their community, or supporting activities during Freshers.

You’ll work closely with student committees and elected officers to help bring their ideas to life, encourage participation and make student groups fun, inclusive and engaging for everyone involved.

Alongside supporting activities and events, you’ll also help student leaders feel confident running their groups by offering guidance around planning, organisation and making sure activities are safe and successful.

You’ll play a key role in helping students feel connected throughout their university journey, creating opportunities for friendships, leadership, community spirit and unforgettable experiences.

What skills will you need?

You’ll be someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships and bringing positive energy to a team.

You’ll need to be organised, adaptable and confident supporting a wide range of activities and projects in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you’ll care about creating welcoming spaces where students can get involved, feel supported and have an amazing university experience.

What do we offer?

We offer a competitive salary, generous holidays, flexible working and the opportunity to work in a fun, energetic and passionate team dedicated to improving student life at Swansea University.

Every day is different, and you’ll have the chance to help shape experiences and memories that students will carry with them long after they graduate.

The Union is an Equal Opportunities Employer, and we value the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
