Full-time, 35 hours per week

Annual Salary £20,092 (Grade 4:11)

We are an award-winning Students' Union and through our charitable and commercial activities, are the principal voice of students studying at Swansea University.

We are now recruiting for an Events & Engagement Co-ordinator to develop and oversee a Bay Campus Events and Engagement Strategy that supports all of the Union Licence trade services, campaigns, activities, and related projects.

The position shall effectively monitor and develop the Strategy to ensure that it remains relevant to member’s needs and includes opportunities for digital engagement as well as the more traditional in person events.

As a key member of the team, the post holder shall ensure that all events aim to achieve immediate and long-term business targets and they will liaise across commercial and non-commercial services to build on and showcase the Union brands. Through extensive market research, the postholder shall provide competitor analysis, updates on latest consumer trends and opportunities for business development.

Primarily based at Bay Campus, the post holder shall also be responsible for overseeing the Union space at Y Twyni and with some support from student staff, make sure that it remains operational, welcoming to students, well presented and compliant with health and safety requirements. This will include being the key point of contact at reception and providing information to visitors as and when necessary.

This role will require some late evenings and weekend work to support the activities of the events department and so a full driving licence is essential.

The position will work closely with other relevant staffing teams and provide strategic, and operational support to the Officer teams and Senior Management Team when necessary. The successful candidate will have a marketing or events qualification or equivalent training. Ideally, they will have experience in a similar role within an events environment, including leading successful teams and also hold a Personal Licence and Full Driving Licence.
