Whether you’re working behind the bar, helping with live music nights, or supporting the setup of major campus events like Freshers’ Ball or Varsity, no two shifts are the same. You'll gain valuable experience, develop new skills,

and help create a safe, inclusive, and unforgettable environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

Bar Duties:

· Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks quickly and responsibly

· Operate tills and handle payments accurately

· Keep the bar clean, fully stocked, and presentable during service

· Check IDs and ensure responsible alcohol service in line with licensing laws

Events Promotions:

  • Assist with promoting events in-person and online
  • Share Social media posts from JCs, Cove and Swanseaents
  • Actively promote upcoming Union events will working other Shifts
  • If you have ideas, please let your us know! Our aim is to be as student facing as possible

Events Support:

· Assist with setup and pack-down for events (e.g. Freshers Ball, club nights, Varsity, Live Music and Summer Ball)

· Provide support to DJs, performers, or external suppliers

· Help with crowd control and maintaining a safe, inclusive and positive atmosphere during events.

General:

· Provide excellent customer service with a friendly, approachable manner

· Follow health & safety and hygiene procedures

· Be a team player and support colleagues across different areas when needed

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be working as part of our Events and Venues team – a fast-paced, friendly crew who keep the good times rolling. Your job will be varied, hands-on, and seriously fun.

You don’t need loads of experience – just the right attitude and a willingness to learn.

· Reliable, enthusiastic, good under pressure and enjoys a challenge

· Willing to work late nights and weekends

· A genuine team player with strong communication skills

· Aged 18 or over (due to alcohol licensing regulations)

Desirable:

· Previous experience in bar, hospitality or events (not essential – full training provided!)

· Interest in live music, nightlife, or event planning

. Outgoing person who is willing to put themselves out there
