Assist the promotion set up and running of the busiest student night in Swansea
Help create a safe, inclusive, and unforgettable environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
Events Promotions:
- Assist with promoting events in-person and online
- Foster good relationships with sports clubs and societies to obtain more attendance
- Share Social media posts regarding GWA, Varsity and other Union events
- Actively promote upcoming Union events whilst working Wednesday nights
- Use network to grow the GWA brand
- If you have ideas, please let your us know! Our aim is to be as student facing as possible
Events Support:
. Be prepared to work all Wednesday nights throughout term time
· Assist with setup and pack-down for events
. Liaise with our sponsored sports and societies ensuring their Wednesday night experiences are as good as possible
. Engage with the clubs to learn about their upcoming events to see if we can provide support for them
· Provide support to DJs, performers, or external suppliers
. Ensure Wednesday nights have the correct equipment to run (wristbands, zettles, chargers etc)
· Help with crowd control and maintaining a safe, inclusive and positive atmosphere during events.
General:
· Provide excellent customer service with a friendly, approachable manner
. Have an insight in to how the sports and societies teams work
· Follow health & safety and hygiene procedures
· Be a team player and support colleagues across different areas when needed
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be working as part of our Events team – a fast-paced, friendly team who look to provide the best student nights possible. Your job will be varied, hands-on, and seriously fun.
You don’t need loads of experience – just the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
· Reliable, enthusiastic, good under pressure and enjoys a challenge
· Willing to work every Wednesday night and some weekends
· A genuine team player with strong communication skills
· Aged 18 or over (due to alcohol licensing regulations)
Desirable:
· Previous experience in bar, hospitality or events (not essential – full training provided!)
· Interest in live music, nightlife, or event planning
. Well connected and outgoing who is willing to meet new people
